Kanonkop House is an intimate, luxury boutique guesthouse perched quietly in indigenous forest on the edge of Knysna Lagoon, with sweeping views over the lagoon and the famous sandstone cliffs called the Knysna Heads.
The location is excellent — about a 5-minute drive from Knysna town centre, easily accessible via the N2 highway. This gives guests both serenity and easy access to local restaurants, shopping, nature walks, beaches, golf courses etc.
Garden Suites –
These are ~ 50 m² luxury suites styled with classic yet modern décor, with large sliding doors opening onto sun-drenched patios overlooking the pool and gardens — tranquil, spacious and perfect for relaxing.
Lagoon-Facing Suites–
Slightly larger (~ 65 m²), these offer sweeping views of Knysna Lagoon and the indigenous forest, with private decks or balconies, raised baths, elegant interiors with king/twin beds and intimate lounge or reading areas.
Penthouse Suites–
The most luxurious and expansive (~ 80 m²), located top-floor with multiple balconies, a telescope, indoor/outdoor bathrooms, and design elements that maximize views over the forest canopy and lagoon — ideal for guests wanting the highest level of indulgence.

Every morning, guests are treated to an included breakfast featuring a full English-cooked breakfast, specialty egg dishes, fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, homemade mueslis and cheeses.

Guests can engage in both water-based and land-based activities: lagoon snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing or boat cruises, as well as nature walks, hiking, forest trails, wildlife sanctuaries, beach visits, etc.
